Delivering for Sturt

A Stronger Economy

National unemployment is down to 4% - the equal lowest in 48 years.

There are 394,000 more Australians employed than pre-COVID. (ABS, Mar 2022)

The recent Budget saw the largest improvement to Australia's Budget in over 70 years.

Lower Taxes

75,900 taxpayers in Sturt will benefit from further tax relief of up to $1,500 this year.

The small business tax rate is at the lowest level in 50 years (25%).

In Sturt, 4,900 small businesses are eligible for our new Skills and Training Boost.

Cleaner Environment

We have a plan to deliver net zero emissions by 2050. Our plan will achieve this through technology, not taxes.

30,300 rooftop solar systems have been installed in Sturt. More than 5,000 clean energy and energy efficiency projects have been supported in South Australia.

Better Health

Telehealth has been made permanent. In Sturt over 678,000 Telehealth services have been delivered. Federal funding for South Australian hospitals has increased by 69% since we came to Government. There have been over 2,900 new or amended medicine listings on the PBS since 2013.

Priorities for Sturt

Improving Our Infrastructure

We are completing upgrades at the Magill Road/Portrush Road Intersection, as well as Magill Road streetscape as part of the Magill Village Project. We are also upgrading the Kensington Gardens Reserve clubrooms, delivering Campbelltown Urban Village and supporting the Carbon Neutral Project at Norwood Oval.

Improving Local Health

We are building on the Liberal Government's record investment in South Australian hospitals.

We are making it easier to see a local doctor by making Telehealth permanent, adding more cancer treatments to the PBS, and protecting Private Health Insurance Rebate.

Ensuring a Strong Economy

Putting more income in taxpayer's hand through the low and middle income tax offset and tax incentives allowing more than 30,000 local businesses to use the expanded instant asset write-off.

Lowering the Cost of Living

Making it easier and cheaper to see a doctor, with a record 83% GP bulk billing rate in Sturt.

The Liberal Government has cut fuel excise in half for six months. This will help the owners of around 120,000 passenger vehicles locally to save on their fuel.
